Dobra and Clements With First Team in Germany
Thursday, 4th Jul 2019 20:45

Youngsters Armando Dobra and Bailey Clements joined the first-team squad as they flew out to Germany earlier this afternoon for their pre-season training camp.

Attacking midfielder Dobra, 18, signed his first professional deal with the Blues in February and a month later was handed his Albanian U19s debut.

A regular for the U23s last season, Dobra joined Town from the Essex-based Finesse Football Academy as an U15 and became a full-time scholar in the summer of 2017.

Left-back Clements, also 18, signed his first professional deal in August last year having trained with the first team during pre-season and come on as a sub in the Barnet friendly. Clements has been with Town, his local club, since he was seven years old.

The duo will hope to be involved when the Blues take on Bundesliga new boys SC Paderborn in their first friendly of pre-season on Saturday.

Dobra and Clements are far from the only academy products in Germany with the likes of Jack Lankester, Teddy Bishop, Andre Dozzell, Flynn Downes, Tristan Nydam, Josh Emmanuel, Myles Kenlock, Harry Wright and Idris El Mizouni all established members of the first-team squad.

You can find details of Town’s pre-season fixtures ahead of 2019/20 here.

We need them...no doubt about that.
Job vacancy; ITFC scout, hours to suit. But must do at least 1hr per week.

10 young players either in the academy now or who have come through it over recent couple of years. The future IS bright for our Club. I'm going to look forwards to seeing them cut their teeth in League One this season .

We had some great younger players involved last pre season. Never to be seen again once season proper started. Hoping these 2,s involvement isn't to put in the shop window for loans out.
Loaning out the Woolf was madness, being our best centre back by some way.

Being a very sellable player.
Very concerning if not.
No trouble finding a buyer for our no1 young player.
Potentially a lot better than Clark and Webster, that there's no doubt.

I'm not usually one to knock other posters but yours are pathetic ITFCsince73 i just hope our younger players dont read your rubbish !

Wickets you have totally hit the nail on the head, unfortunately they will inevitably read these types of comments because footballers are all young men and curious.
It obviously does them no good and such vitriol devalues all football supporters, a great shame and usually comes from the young and immature.
If such social media was available during the day I just wonder how that would have affected the young Bobby Robson who was pilloried for 3 years by a substantial section of ITFC supporters.
Thank heavens he was strong enough to stick it out, lets hope the current squad and management team show a similar resilience.

Lighthearted posts....if you kept reading that must have shown. Negative...not me.
I've supported since the early 70,s...so can take the negative with the positive.

Cant keep posting positive, when theres little there, to appease the happy clappers.

Seems very strange we don't have a number of trialist or released players from say the premier league or higher championships teams with us on this pre season?!
Would be a excellent opportunity to take a look at new players.

I am sensing some doubts from previous ' positive ' posters.

We would have struggled in league 1 with last year's performances.

So yes Dolphin, 12 out and one in isn't filling many of us with enthusiasm.

I read an excellent post yesterday stating that Evans has washed his hands of the club to concentrate on the more successful parts of his businesses.

Unfortunately, it is looking like that is the likely scenario.

Mind you, had I pumped £100 million plus into a project and it failed miserably, I think I'd be of the same mindset.

Still, being the shrewd businessman he is, he still managed to con the best part of 12,000 fans to buy a season ticket with false promises.

Ah football. Surely the only business that puts its loyal customers last.

Blue Army!

There won't be anybody coming in until Bart's wages are off the books. Ironically if he stays it could be the worst thing that could happen as it would put the brakes on recruitment.

@ Northstandveteran
What post are you referring to regarding Evans please? One on here or the forum? Or elsewhere?
Cheers
